The following attributes were added to TRIMCOIL element:
PHIMIN Minimal azimuth [deg] (default 0) (not for PSI-BFIELD-MIRRORED)
PHIMAX Maximal azimuth [deg] (default 360) (not for PSI-BFIELD-MIRRORED)
Also a profile can be specified in the azimuthal direction, from the manual:
Separate functions can be given for the radial and azimuthal direction.
These functions are multiplied together for the function.
If a function in a direction is not specified it is the identity 1.
Additional attributes:
COEFNUMPHI
Coefficients of the numerator for the azimuthal direction,
first coefficient is zeroth order.
If COEFNUMPHI is not specified, the numerator is 1.
(not for PSI-BFIELD-MIRRORED).
COEFDENOMPHI
Coefficients of the denominator for the azimuthal direction,
first coefficient is zeroth order.
If COEFDENOMPHI is not specified, the denominator is 1, and the description will be a normal polynom
(not for PSI-BFIELD-MIRRORED).
@snuverink_j This basically enables to have trim coils on specific sectors? But when I have 8 sectors and the same trim coil on each sector, then I have to specify 8 instances with same angular coefficients but different PHIMIN and PHIMAX. Is this correct?
So, with this feature we can remove TRIMCOILTHRESHOLD, right?
@frey_m yes that is correct. But yes with 8 sectors one has to specify the instance 8 times. For that reason I think the TRIMCOILTHRESHOLD is still good to keep.
@frey_m true that could be a good alternative. The specific use case from @matlocha_t is for harmonic coils which are not duplicated in such a way as our trim coils. Feel free to open a new feature request and assign to me
